Dr. Park's research focuses on culture, family functioning, and mental health in diverse contexts. Specifically, she examines cultural influences on family processes (e.g., parenting) that serve as risk or protective factors in the development of psychopathology or psychological well-being in underserved populations (e.g., ethnic minority adolescents). Dr. Park is especially interested in cultural influences on emotion regulation and developmental psychopathology. Other research interests include: adolescent substance use among Asian Americans; domestic violence; cultural competence.
