A Stochastic Model of Pattern Development in Yeast Colonies
Unlike lab strains, wild type yeast colonies develop into complex shapes that presumably facilitate their nutrient absorption and waste secretion. Here I will present a stochatic model and its analysis that capture the behavior of yeast colonies on a single cell level. The computational results will be contrasted with experiments performed at our lab.
