What is this?

An executive seminar to help trustees of Catholic colleges and universities learn about specific Catholic issues important for the fulfillment of their responsibilities as trustees.

What is the focus?

We’ll explore these three areas of emphasis:

1. highlighting the role of any Catholic college or university in serving the Catholic Church in significant,
academic ways;

2. developing a clear and consistent Catholic message throughout the university, even though any college or university has many different departments and units;

3. making clearer the role played by theology as the central integrating discipline in a Catholic college or university.

Why is this important?

Trustees of Catholic colleges and universities have a fiduciary responsibility for the Catholic character, identity, and mission of their institutions. Trustees must understand what, exactly, that means and develop practical skills that will make it possible for them to effectively exercise their fiduciary responsibility.
