Option for the Poor, November, 2002
The Institute for Church Life contributed to the Option for the Poor Conference, which took place November 10-13, 2002 . The conference gathered scholars from around the globe to the University of Notre Dame to reflect on the theme of the option for the poor and its contributions to the Church and the Academy.
Close to 700 participated (faculty, students and paid participants). Twenty departments and/or Institutes co-sponsored the conference, most of them from within Notre Dame.
Currently, there are three publications in progress:
Volume I, Senior Scholars - The Proceedings of the Conference (Presenter's Talks);
Volume II; Articles on the Option for the Poor from the Young Theologians; and
Volume III; Interdisciplinary Reflections.
