Long-Term Care Insurance
Eligible employees have the opportunity to purchase group long term care insurance to cover expenses for care in a nursing home and assisted living/residential care facility and for services including home health care and adult day care.
As a population, we are living longer because of healthier lifestyles, new medical technology, and drug treatments. This enables us to live with a mental or physical condition longer than ever before. Many people are unable to care for themselves and may require long term care services. Since long term care is not covered by medical insurance and disability insurance and there is limited Medicare/Medicaid coverage, these expenses can quickly deplete individual and family resources.
The University has developed a partnership with Prudential Insurance Company of America to offer Long Term Care Insurance. The plan offers a variety of daily and lifetime benefit levels.
