SGI Origin PowerLearn
Seminar - April 16-17, 2002
The SGI PowerLearn Seminar is a course for "Power Users" who develop, optimize, and parallelize scientific applications on SGI Origin systems.
In this course, we touch on many subjects related to code porting, development, and performance optimization. The style of the presentation is to cover these subjects at a rapid pace in big-picture fashion, providing handouts and references to on-line documentation and web resources so that attendees can follow up the course with fact-finding and detailed study according to their own interests and needs.
The lectures will be spread over two days and intermixed with lab sessions so attendees can experiment with applying the course techniques to their own codes. There will be a "practice code" provided that can be used for such experimentation for those who don't have a suitable code of their own available.
The instructor will be Dr. Jack Perry, Scientific Computing Specialist, SGI, Waltham, Massachusetts.
