Welcome, Future Ducks, to the best dorm on campus!

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Notre Dame! We are looking forward to meeting all of you and welcoming you into the Howard Hall family. As you may have already heard, you are coming to a hall that has won Women’s Hall of the Year 2009-2010 as well as the 2009 and 2010 Interhall Flag Football Championship; basically, you’ll be living in the best dorm on campus! We’re Shannon and Katie, your Freshman Orientation Coordinators. We are both from California; Shannon is an Art History major while Katie is majoring in Biochemistry. As your Freshman Orientation Coordinators, we have been working very hard to organize a weekend filled with fun activities to help you get to know your fellow ducks as well as ND, and we are just as excited as you to get back to campus. Notre Dame is a wonderful place filled with many opportunities, as you will soon discover. From guest speakers to service groups and science clubs to concerts and dances, there are plenty of events to keep you busy (while you’re not studying for exams, of course). In addition, we hope that you get involved with dorm life in Howard, whether it is participating in hall government, helping with hall liturgies or playing on an interhall sports team.

Howard Hall has the perfect location on South Quad; it is right across from South Dining Hall, close to the Rockne Memorial Gymnasium, and just a short walk to the Grotto. As one of the smallest dorms on campus, you will have the opportunity to get to know everyone in Howard. Because we are so small, we’ll need your help to make this year in Howard the best yet! Look forward to brother/sister dorm events, movie watches in the lounge, pep rallies, charity events, and our annual Christmas party, Howard Halliday – and that’s just your first semester!

Please note: Hall staff will collect a $75 hall tax at move-in. This tax covers the hall t-shirt and orientation expenses, as well as a year's worth of hall programming, often including meals or snacks. It's actually quite a bargain! Hall life at ND and in Howard is a blast.
