HLSA's 2004 GRACIELA OLIVAREZ AWARD

AWARD CEREMONY & PRESENTATION
NOTRE DAME LAW SCHOOL COURTROOM

The 2004 award was bestowed upon Mr. J. Robert Flores, the Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention. Mr. Flores is at the forefront of the government's efforts to combat juvenile crime and help at risk youth. Mr. Flores earned his Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the Boston University School of Management.

Mr. Flores encourages law students, particularly those of Hispanic descent, to consider working in public service where they can impact Hispanic youth in the system, giving them an opportunity to see legal professionals who share their heritage. This in turn provides hope and an understanding that justice and fairness can be a reality for them as well.
