Project in the Hollocher Lab: I have been cloning and sequencing the entire yellow locus of D. similis (from St. Vincent and Grenada) and D. polymorpha (from Brazil) to compare the gene structure of these species to that of two other species sequenced earlier (D. dunni from Puerto Rico and D. nigrodunni from Barbados) in order to study evolutionary divergence among these Caribbean Drosophila species.
