In our oldest surviving mission effort outside of North America, 185 Holy Cross religious, including four bishops, now serve the church and people of Bangladesh, in a predominantly Islamic culture. About a dozen Bangladeshi religious have gone forth to minister in Africa and Latin America. Less than 25 of the priests (Sacred Heart of Jesus Province), brothers (St. Joseph Province) and sisters now serving in Bangladesh are foreigners.
