FIRE quote

Fall Initiatives - 2008

The Gender Relations Center educates on the impact of the social construction of gender and encourages students to explore issues of equality, personal identity and relationship development. Committed to fostering the spiritual, emotional and intellectual development of all students, the GRC—through signature programs and training about gender related issues—facilitates respectful dialogue where women and men can share their unique experiences and participate in building a community which fully honors the human dignity of each member as a creature of God.

We are here to guide the Notre Dame community in navigating the complicated world of gender relations. From dating and relating to sexual assault, sexism to homophobia, the GRC can help you understand and tackle tough gender issues in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Individuals, groups, and organizations associated with the University are welcome to contact us about our signature programs and training, or visit the GRC to learn more about a topic through our resources. The GRC also supports and coordinates with several campus departments, student clubs, and organizations to provide information and assistance.
