Fall Back into Business

Reserve your hotel room at the Quality Inn University (call 574-272-6600 for our block of rooms at a discounted price & mention 1979 ND MBA). Note that the block will be released on September 25.  After that date, the rooms will be first come first served.  If you are staying at another location, please let us know so we can have an accurate count of who's attending.

We are having a class dinner on Friday Oct. 23 at 8pm at a restaurant (TBD) close to the hotel.  The dinner has been moved to Friday night instead of Saturday night. Once we realized the game started at 3:30pm, it only made sense to have the dinner on Friday.  On Saturday night, after the game, we will have cocktails and a light meal available back at the Quality Inn.

The Friday night 10/23 class dinner will be held at 8pm at Tippecanoe Place Restaurant, the historic mansion originally owned by the Studebaker family.  It is located at 620 West Washington St., South Bend, with phone number (574) 234-9077, and website http://www.tippe.com.  We will be having a sit-down dinner in a private room, which includes your choice of one of following three entrees: Petite Cut 8 oz Prime Rib, Shrimp Stir-Fry, or Herb-Roasted Chicken. IMPORTANT:  WHEN YOU SEND YO UR CHECK, PLEASE NOTE A DINNER SELECTION FOR EACH MEMBER OF YOUR PARTY.  THE CHOICES ARE:  PRIME RIB, SHRIMP STIR-FRY, OR CHICKEN.  All meals come with a salad, bread, vegetable, starch, and coffee, tea or milk.  Other drinks must be purchased separately, including sodas.  A cash bar will be available for soda, beer and wine.  The dress is nice casual. You will need to make out a check to Patricia Kerr for $27 per person if you are going to attend the Friday night dinner.

The Saturday night 10/24 class event will begin after the game ends, back at the Quality Inn University.  We have a private room near the Gipper’s Lounge.  A pizza/wings/mini-hamburger buffet, and veggie/cheese/cracker trays will be available.  Drinks must be purchased separately.  A cash bar is available there as well.  The Quality Inn address is 515 Dixieway North, South Bend, with phone number (574) 272-6600, and website www.qualityinn.com/hotel-south_bend-indiana-IN184 A check for $12 per person made out to Patricia Kerr needs to be sent if you will be attending the Saturday after-game event at the Quality Inn. 

You can send one check for the total, $39 per person if you are attending both events.  The $27 price and the $12 price already include a 20% gratuity and 7% tax. Please send your check by Saturday, October 10.  We need to give the restaurant a final headcount 48 hours before the event, so there will be no refunds for cancellations after that time.  Please mail checks to Patricia K. A final note:  The Quality Inn University special block of rooms at a discounted rate will expire on 9/30/09.  Call them at (574) 272-6600 and ask for the ND 1979 MBA block of rooms, if you haven't booked yet.
