FAQ

Why am I listed on the Lost Alumni page?
The University periodically sends out pieces of mail to Alumni. Any Alumni mail returned to the University is processed through the Alumni Files Department. In order to not continue sending mail to wrong addresses, the Alumni Files Department goes through each piece of mail that is returned and records it on the specific person's entity file.  If the post office has provided a new address for them, the Alumni Files Department updates the address. If there is not a new address, the Alumni Files Department marks the date and counts the return on the person's entity file.  When the University receives two returns for that person, they are coded as "lost" in Irish Online.  This stops further mail going to that address in error and being returned again to us.

How do I register on Irish Online?

Current Students and 2006 Spring Graduates*:
Current students have access to @alumni.nd.edu e-mail forwarding and also may have access to the Career networking system of Irish Online. Current Students do not have access to the Online Directory.

If you already have access to the Career networking system, you do not need to register again. Simply use the username and password that the Career Center gave you. If you do not know your login information, please e-mail onlinehelp@alumni.nd.edu and include your current name, your full name, your class year, and your birth date.

To request a username and password:
  1. Enter your last name.
  2. Enter the letters SS followed by the 8 digit number on the back of your Student ID. Ex: SS01234567 (do not use the ending 2 numbers followed by the space) This is NOT your Social Security Number
*2006 Spring Graduates are still in the system as current students until the Registrar office changes their status to Alumni. This should be completed by July 2006.
