Naunihal Singh

Naunihal Singh (B.S. Yale University 1992, Ph.D. Harvard University 2005) Assistant Professor, Naunihal Singh specializes in comparative politics, conflict, civil-military relations, democratization, and the politics of Sub-Saharan Africa. His published work includes a monograph, "Civil Military Relations in Ghana," and an important piece of social science software, "Amelia : A Program for Missing Data (Windows version)." He is currently working on a book explaining why some attempted military coup d'etats fail while others succeed. He is also working on papers concerning the determinants of campaign regulations cross-nationally, trust in the media in Africa, the magnitude of the domino effect, and the relationship between state weakness and civil wars in Africa. He has conducted research in or traveled to Ghana, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Gambia, Benin, Uganda, Kenya and South Africa.
