On-Line Application for 2009 Available December 2008
An opportunity by invitation to be one of 40 top
rising high school seniors engaging in a stimulating one-week exploration of the future challenges facing young Catholic leaders.
Hosted and underwritten by the University of Notre Dame, Global Issues Seminar is taught by some of the University's most exciting faculty.
Through a series of integrated themes and experiences, this seminar addresses the issue of whether - in an era of rapid globalization - peace and justice might be achieved, and how those who take Catholic social teaching seriously might plan a role in that process. The students will examine how the values we possess might interact with political, economic, and social realities to produce viable strategies in the future. A particular emphasis this year will be placed on the prospects for Christian-Muslim dialogue and the challenges of living in a post 9-11 world.
Global Issues Seminar also provides a complete Notre Dame experience. Students stay in campus residence halls and have access to virtually all the same academic, recreational and spiritual resources as traditional undergraduate students. One college credit will be offered to all participants upon completion of the program.
