Phospholipid head-group solvation
In these images, excess water density surrounding two
phospholipid headgroups is shown as a colored halo
around the head group atoms. The water density is
measured in a head-group-fixed reference frame,
and it is clear that the phosphate end in DMPC and the
amine end in DMPE are the two most heavily solvated atoms.
