Terminal Master’s Student Track:

9 credit hours of Gender Studies graduate courses - three in the "Interdisciplinary Core Seminar" in Gender Studies and six in courses either cross-listed with the Program or approved by the Graduate Minor Committee, and

2 semesters of participation in the Gender Studies Research Workshop, including a presentation of a research paper in this forum.

Doctoral Student Track:

9 credit hours of Gender Studies graduate courses - three in the "Interdisciplinary Core Seminar" in Gender Studies and six in courses either cross-listed with the Program or approved by the Graduate Minor Committee, and

Evidence of substantial research in a gender-related area (such as a published article, a conference paper, a master’s qualifying paper, or a dissertation chapter).
Advising Sheet - Graduate Minor/Doctoral Track
Double-counting of courses for the requirements of this minor program and another graduate program at Notre Dame is permitted.
Graduate students with tuition scholarships whose tuition credits do not cover the cost of taking courses for this minor program may petition the Gender Studies Graduate Minor Committee to audit a course to fulfill the aforesaid requirements. The student must register as an auditor and complete all work for the course according to the instructor's specifications. The student must present copies of the written work performed for the course to the Gender Studies Program office for recording in his/her advising file. A letter from the professor indicating that the Graduate student attended and audited the course should also be submitted to the Gender Studies Program office.
