Jill R. Bodensteiner is Associate Vice President and Senior Counsel for the University of Notre Dame.  Ms. Bodensteiner provides advice on employment and equity-related matters to the Office of the Provost, the Colleges, the Office of Human Resources and the Office of Institutional Equity at Notre Dame.  Ms. Bodensteiner generally serves as the University's contact with the government agencies that monitor equal opportunity issues.  In addition, Ms. Bodensteiner serves as the primary contact for legal issues in the Athletics Department and the Office of International Studies.  Ms. Bodensteiner serves as an ex officio member of the University Committee on Women Faculty and Students and as a member of the University Benefits Committee, and she chairs the University of Notre Dame Equity in Athletics Task Force.

Ms. Bodensteiner serves as an Assistant Editor for The Journal of College and University Law , and has published articles regarding employment discrimination in the Journal and in other publications.  Before joining the Notre Dame Office of the General Counsel in 1997, Ms. Bodensteiner specialized in employment litigation as an associate at two law firms, Seyfarth Shaw in Chicago and Bryan Cave LLP in St. Louis.  She also clerked for the Honorable Catherine Perry, a United States District Court judge in St. Louis.  She received her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, her J.D. from Washington University Law School in St. Louis, and her MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
