Dear Colleague,
We intend to organize a workshop on the applications of High-Precision gamma-
Spectroscopy at the University of Notre Dame from July 1-3, 1998 in Notre Dame, Indiana (USA).
Recent applications of High-Precision gamma-Spectroscopy have extended from the study of nuclear level-schemes, level-lifetimes and fundamental constants to the investigation of atomic collision cascades and impurity locations in solids. The facilities and techniques used in these various investigations range from semiconductor- to crystal-spectrometers while measurements are carried out at accelerators, nuclear reactors, and/or spallation sources.
In all these areas there are or may be complementary methods and techniques, common questions, and solutions. Therefore, the goal of the workshop is to create a forum for the discussion and exchange of ideas on the present use and future developments of High-Precision gamma-Spectroscopy. We hope to bring together specialists working on related subjects using different approaches.
The planned format of the workshop will include a number of invited talks followed by contributed papers specific to a given topic. There will be ample time alloted for discussions. The number of participants will be limited in order to maintain an intimate workshop atmosphere.
Would you kindly let us know before Jan.10, 1998 if you would be interested
- in attending the workshop (Yes).....................
- in presenting a talk in the area: .......................
