History Fresh Writing was created by Robin MacRorie in 1998 as a way to help make the idea of audience more concrete to first-year students. After seeing how her students reacted to publishing their essays on her website and knowing that other students would read them, she noticed a real shift in how students responded to assignments. In the fall of 2001, Connie Mick-Snyder took over the project, moving away from the student-editors and the web-only publication and bringing in FYC instructors as more professional editors as well as issuing the first print edition of Fresh Writing. |
