Obtaining a Student Job

1. There are more than enough on-campus job opportunities for students at Notre Dame! Keep in mind that it is the student's responsibility to secure employment. Student Employment's Job Board is a great place to begin your search. The Job Board is regularly updated as new positions become available, so check back often.
2. All students must comply with federal employment laws and regulations. Once you have secured your first on-campus job, you should be prepared to complete the following employment forms with your hiring department prior to your first day of work:
   • Form W-4
   • Form WH-4
   • Form I-9, accompanied by required supporting documentation as listed on page two of the Form I-9.
   • Direct Deposit Election Form
3. NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: International students require additional documentation as evidence of work eligibility in the United States. Please click here for more detailed information.
4. Record your hours in the University's UltraTime system to ensure that you are paid in a timely manner. If you are unable to use the UltraTime system, submit time cards to your supervisor for verification and sign-off, allowing enough time for delivery to and processing by the Payroll department according to the Payroll Schedule.
