Description of Position

Tutors are responsible for using our lesson plans with children in grades K - 4 throughout the city at 4 different locations. Each tutor will be allowed to select the grade level and site he/she would prefer. Our academic focus is literacy development, and tutors will work on reading, writing and comprehension at each session.

Qualifications

- Strong interest in education
- Energetic, positive attitude and a commitment to improving university-community relations
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with children and other staff members
- Able to tutor at least twice a week and be able to get to sites that are off campus in the city of South Bend (we can help with carpooling, but tutoring is not done at the RCLC).

3:00 - 5:00, either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.
