Description of Position |
The activities and products of the Health and Safety Services department help save lives, add visibility, and open doors for recruiting volunteers and philanthropic support. The general responsibilities of the preparedness and health and safety services associate include assisting in the processing of course records for Health and Safety classes; assisting in preparing/setting up community classes and equipment for authorized providers; and coordinating and conducting community disaster education classes. Responsibilities also include cleaning, managing, and organizing health and safety equipment; recruiting training and mentoring new volunteers; and developing health and safety outreach programs. Coordination of some special projects may be requested. |

Qualifications |
Must be a self-starter with strong communication skills, and willingness to use all forms of communication including e-mail. Interest in disaster response, planning, and preparedness. Must have strong computer skills including basic Microsoft office software and be able to quickly learn Red Cross software applications. Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to learn Red Cross programs. Background in education, marketing, and volunteer recruitment a plus. Must have own transportation. |
