Description of Position

The tutor coordinator  acts as an intermediary between Dismas and local college students and to oversee tutoring sessions on Tuesday nights.
The employee will plan instruction for the tutoring session based upon the need of the individual residents and then effectively communicate with and guide volunteer tutors (typically through written instructions and library resources.) The tutor coordinator will help recruit volunteer tutors and help prepare them for their work. The tutor coordinator will also be responsible to recruiting students, at St. Mary�s and Holy Cross Colleges if possible, in a variety of areas. In addition, the tutor coordinator will help communicate Dismas opportunities and events on the Notre Dame campus by designing advertisements, disseminating materials, and communicating with campus organizations and groups.

Qualifications
 Self-motivator, responsible, honest, flexible, good organizational and communication skills, basic computer skills, and experience in tutoring helpful; experience with former offenders helpful; familiarity with public library beneficial.
