Description of Position

Teach Red Cross classes to the community!  Become a certified Red Cross Health and Safety Instructor.  Responsibilities include taking the Red Cross instructor course to become a certified instructor of CPR, First Aid, AED, Cat and Dog First Aid, and Babysitting (or some of these classes if not all).  Upon receiving training, teach classes as scheduled by the Health and Safety staff at the Chapter – classes can be scheduled to occur at the Chapter or within the broader community.  Instructors should arrive at classes at least 20 minutes to the start of each class and must carefully document class participants for certification.  A portion of this job will include data entry as each class participant is entered into the Learning Management System (LMS).

Qualifications

Must be a self-starter with strong communication skills, and willingness to use all forms of communication including e-mail.  Must be able to master the course content of Red Cross classes and be able to effectively communicate this material to an audience including testing practical skills.  Some computer experience including data entry skills are important.  Must have own transportation.

Schedule
Flexible, generally between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00 pm, Monday through Fridays.  However, some evening and weekend work may be possible.

This position can work from campus or from the Red Cross office though some work at the Red Cross office will be necessary for training and meetings.
