Description of Position |
The Federal Work-Study
tutor will work with low functioning readers (i.e. students who read at or
below the third grade level). The tutor will assist the student in developing
basic reading skills. The tutor will have access to various educational tools
necessary to enhance the learners reading skills. The tutor will work closely
with the reading, Special Education teacher. The teacher will provide
direction and guidance to the tutor. The tutor will be administering informal
assessments to monitor student(s) progress. |

Qualifications |
Must be
eligible for Federal Work-Study. The tutor must have the ability to be
patient and show compassion to the student(s). Part of the process will be
helping build self-esteem in the student(s) |
