responsible for assisting Dismas staff in implementing the evening meal program and other life skills, securing
resources & recruiting volunteers to help Dismas participants increase
their skills so they can succeed in today's society. |

Qualifications |
Must be flexible,
reliable, energetic and have a positive attitude. Good communication and
computer skills a must. Must able to work with people from diverse
backgrounds. Knowledge of the local community a plus, but not required. Must
be eligible for the Federal Work Study Program. |

Transportation: Dismas
House is located less than a block from public transportation. Dismas of Michiana is a
reentry program for men and women recently released from incarceration. Dismas
of Michiana, a non-profit organization, provides housing and services to
former offenders so they can successfully renter society. At Dismas House,
former offenders and local college student live together in a family setting.
They receive support from hundreds of volunteers and dedicated staff. Since
opening in 1986 Dismas House has been home to 500 former offenders and 100
college students. In partnership with the Junior League of South Bend, Dismas
of Michiana also conducts an off-site support group for women, who are on
parole, probation or in a pre-trial diversion program or in the county jail. |
