The Filipino American Student Organization was started at the University of Notre Dame in 1986 and has developed into one of the biggest ethnic organizations on campus today. While no particular person or group of people can be accredited to the creation of FASO, the history and culture that molded and sculpted this organization still lives on through its current members.

FASO does not just involve Filipinos in their activities and events. The Filipino American Student Organization is OPEN TO EVERYONE, regardless of race or ethnicity. According to the club's constitution, the purpose of FASO is to better promote an appreciation of Filipino culture. So if you like to eat, dance, and make new friends of different backgrounds, then FASO may be just right for you.
