(can be manipulated) or graphic format (cannot be manipulated-for viewing only).
Scanning technology is a useful tool for archiving documents for safekeeping
and easy retrieval. Documents are scanned, converted to PDF format, and saved to CDs,
thereby freeing up hard drive space.
