Notre Dame Announces New Executive MBA Fellowships

The Notre Dame Executive MBA program in Chicago and South Bend, with an off-site classroom in Cincinnati, announced that it will award up to eight new fellowships each ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 for new students entering the program this year. The John Cardinal O’Hara Society (JCOS) and J.A. Bernel Fellowship awards will be determined based on a combined review of merit and need for each candidate who applies for a fellowship. The fellowships are funded with money provided by Notre Dame Executive MBA alumni specifically for this purpose.

“These new fellowships are in addition to the need-based fellowships our Executive MBA alumni currently fund for students while in the program,” said Sharon Keane, director of Notre Dame Executive Education. “Through the generous contributions of our alumni, we are now able to extend our mission and make fellowships available to select outstanding candidates who otherwise may not be able to join our program.”

To be considered, fellowship candidates must first submit a completed application to the Notre Dame Executive MBA program, and then apply for the EMBA fellowship. Fellowship decisions will be made on a rolling basis and notification of a fellowship award may be provided any time between acceptance into the program and the start of the program. For each fellowship award, a portion of the total fellowship amount will be distributed at the start of each progression. Award recipients must maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA to remain eligible.

Competition for fellowships is expected to be intense, and not all qualified candidates will receive awards. Early application is encouraged, with a Class of 2011 application deadline for the South Bend/Cincinnati program of June 1, 2009, and the Chicago program of November 1, 2009.
