Father Oliver F. Williams, C.S.C., Director of the Center
for Ethics and Religious Values in Business, and Professor
Lee A. Tavis, Director of the Program on Multinational Managers
and Developing Country Concerns are co-conveners at a conference
on “Quality Healthcare in Developing Countries: Sustainability,
The New Imperative”. Leaders in non-government organizations
and faith-based organizations from developing countries will
discuss how to be more effective in delivering health care
to the poor who suffer from HIV/AIDS, malaria and other serious
illnesses.
The program will include
two speakers. Ambassador Randall L. Tobias, Office of the
U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator, U.S. Department of State, Washington,
D.C. will keynote the meeting at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April
24 in the Atrium in the Mendoza College of Business. Bishop
Kevin Dowling, Chair of the Justice and Peace Commission,
South Africa, will keynote the meeting on Monday, April 25
at 9:15 a.m. at McKenna Hall (The Center for Continuing Education).
The two keynote addresses are open to the public.
