Since
the arrival of the first group of fellows in August 1998, the Erasmus
Institute has been privileged to welcome more than seventy scholars as
fellows in residence. They have come from institutions throughout
North America and Europe and have ranged from dissertationists yet to
embark on a career to senior scholars who have spent a lifetime
in study.
While their backgrounds and projects demonstrate
a lively diversity, the Erasmus Fellows share a common regard for
and curiosity about the enrichment that the intellectual and cultural traditions
of Catholicism those of related religions can offer to contemporary scholarship.
At the conclusion of the fellowship year, they scatter across the
globe, the hard work spent during their tenure at the Institute
culminating in books and articles published, dissertations completed,
and conference papers delivered.
