Welcome to the College of Engineering Learning Center Web Site

The college's Engineering Learning Center enhances Notre Dame's undergraduate engineering curriculum by providing students with a unique blend of computer workstations, library resources, and laboratory space. A handful of the nation's prominent engineering schools have opened similar facilities, but Notre Dame's program was one of the first to make its innovative facility available to all first-year students.

In the Center students work individually and in teams on a variety of discipline-specific and multidisciplinary projects, creating and testing mathematical models using advanced computer simulations, and designing and fabricating prototype systems and processes. Through close and frequent interactions with faculty and peer mentors, students discover the limitless opportunities available within the field of engineering.

The Center has become a vital tool for student exploration, experimentation, and other learning-driven experiences at all levels. Various departments within the college have created courses that promote interactive learning, using the Center's features to support students as they analyze, design, build, test, and communicate their findings, ultimately preparing students to function successfully as engineers in today's multidisciplinary work environments.
