Mallorca
While there are valid archeological attractions on Mallorca, this is really a destination for outdoor activities of all kinds. The beaches are pristine (if not overcrowded), the waters are clear and ideal for snorkeling, and the mountainous interior offers some of the best hiking opportunities in Spain.

Cruise to Mallorca
From Valencia, it is relatively straightforward to catch a ferry to Mallorca, one of the Balearic Islands. Mallorca is of course famous for its beaches, but has a long history, being a site of Carhaginian, Roman, Byzantine, Moorish and Spanish power.
