How to Log On/Access Shared File Space
Cluster Etiquette
- To help to keep the cluster clean, please throw away/recycle all trash at your workstation. There are wipes located in the central hallway for cleaning your screen.
- The computer cluster is meant for interactive use only. If you have a long/CPU-intensive computing job or process please use the CRC facilities.
- Screenlock is disabled on Windows XP machines but is enabled on Linux Machines. If you need to leave the cluster for a short time you may lock the screen. After ten minutes have passed, however, anyone has the right to log you out using Ctrl+Alt+Backspace (the command to restart X) if there are no others available for use.
- No food or drink is allowed in the cluster.
- Be mindful of your belongings. Items left unguarded are likely to be stolen in a high-traffic area like the cluster.
