News for July 3, 2008:

In order to access certain Notre Dame resources (such as UltraTime or the ND license server), students living off-campus must use the Notre Dame VPN. If you are running Windows XP, Vista, or Mac OS X, OIT maintains an instructional website for connecting to the VPN. Unfortunately, OIT does not support Linux, so Linux users have been left to figure it out for themselves.

Luckily, we do support Linux, so we've posted some instructions here: Linux & ND VPN HOWTO.

If you get errors about outdated certificate when using your email, just click on "Continue". OIT is working on the problem.

To switch between the Linux and Windows machines in 150 & 150A Fitzpatrick press Scroll Lock, Scroll Lock, Up Arrow rapidly.

Tip: Control Which Programs Start Automatically in Windows XP

Click Start, Run and type the command 'msconfig'. Click 'OK' and the Microsoft System Configuration Utility will appear. Click the Startup tab and you can uncheck those programs which you would not like to start when the machine is booted up.
