Thriving in a Wal-Mart World:
An undergraduate conference to consider our contrasting roles as consumers
and citizens in a marketplace dominated by large corporations.
Saturday October 29, 2005
Jordan Auditorium, Mendoza College of Business
University of Notre Dame
This conference will educate members of both the Notre Dame and South Bend communities about the major issues surrounding the growth of the Wal-Mart corporation. By examining both the success of Wal-Mart as well as criticisms of the company, the conference aims to provide a forum to discuss the tension we all face in reconciling our roles as consumers, workers, businesspeople, and responsible citizens. The conference planning committee consists entirely of undergraduates, representing a variety of majors in the College of Arts and Letters and the Mendoza College of Business.
