ARRIVALS INFORMATION
Passport Control at Dublin Airport: Please have your official acceptance letter available when you arrive at Passport Control at Dublin Airport. It is highly unlikely that they will ask to see this information, but just in case, have it in hand. All American citizens are allowed to enter the country on a tourist visa for three (3) months. If you have any difficulties, please contact Ms. Katie Murphy at 087 751 6465.

FALL SEMESTER
Fall and academic year students should proceed to the Keough Centre upon arrival at the Dublin airport at the start of your semester. If you are a UCD student and arriving after your accommodation move-in date, you may proceed directly to your accommodations on either Belfield or Blackrock campuses.

For those coming directly to the Keough Centre: take the AIRCOACH (bright blue buses leaving from outside the arrivals area) into the city centre; this journey will cost you 7 euro- change is given on the coach; tell the bus driver you wish to get off at the American College, Merrion Square North. You will walk through Merrion Square Park to the opposite side of Merrion Square to where you got off the coach, to Number 58 where you can leave your luggage in our Common room on the ground floor. You are welcome as a studetn of Notre daemt o use all teh facilities wihtin the Keouhg Centre; please note that O'Connell House is open from 10am-5pm during the year and closed on the weekends, unless we are hosting a specail occasion!

For those proceeding directly to their UCD accommodations: your best option is to take/share a taxi directly to your residence hall; the cost of the taxi will be approximately 25 euro from the airport - sharing is a good idea.

SPRING SEMESTER
For those arriving on the scheduled spring semester arrival date: please meet the Notre Dame representative in the arrivals hall at Dublin airport near the meeting point; you will be transferred by coach from the airport to your accommodations at UCD.

EXCHANGING MONEY AT DUBLIN AIRPORT
An ATM machine is located in the arrivals hall on the far right-hand wall; a branch of Bank of Ireland is located in the departures hall, as well as a Bureau de Change; there is also another Bureau de Change in the Arrivals Hall.

CHECKLIST UPON ARRIVAL

  • Check in with the Keough-Notre Dame Centre Staff.
  • Check in with the International Studies office at TCD and your respective JYA offices at UCD.
  • Start a bank account: you will need your passport, a letter with your Dublin address on it, and funds to deposit into your account (approx. 65-120 euro).
  • Check in with your Student Advisor, where applicable: TCD students; make an appointment to meet with your Advisor before classes begin so they can explain the course timetable and registration requirements to you.
