Yes, that's
me; and, yes that's a Notre Dame sweater.
Here's my
first Pokemon card, Psyduck, given to me by my 5 year-old
daughter, Madelyn. Psyduck gives headaches that prevent
opponents from playing Trainer cards on the next turn -- whatever
that means. The card also says "While lulling its enemies
with its vacant look, this wily Pokemon will use psychokinetic
powers." This seemed appropriate for me -- at least the
psychokinetic powers part . . .
And lastly,
that's me (#9) celebrating the Olympic "Miracle On Ice" win over
the Soviets in 1980. My students say that makes me an old
guy, but I don't care. The gold medal is worth it.
(Umm. . . that's a joke. I'm not THAT old!
Well, o.k., I guess I AM that old, but you know how political
getting selected for a team like that can be? . . . ) Anyway,
here's a link to my new team Faculty/Staff/Grad
Hockey and our picture. (I'm on the far right, with
red-white-blue Bemidji High School socks. My gold helment
is in front.) The photo was taken shortly after we won the
South Bend Ice Box 2000 Spring Tournament (now I'm being truthful
again!). It was brutal, but we just couldn't let the ND
class of 2000 graduate without ANY athletic champions during their
time here. You're welcome.
