Jennie received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Notre Dame in 2001. She was a Valedictorian candidate for the class of 2001, and elected to membership in the Academic Honor Society of Phi Beta Kappa and the International English Society of Sigma Tau Delta.

Jennie was the captain of the ND Ultimate Frisbee Team (a fast-paced team sport played with a frisbee disc, on a modified football field with two endzones: Ultimate Players Association).

Jennie worked two years as a Tutor Programming Coordinator with a charter elementary school in Washington D.C. She continues to be an Ultimate Player and competes in tournaments nationwide. 

She is now a full-time student pursuing her Master's Degree in English.
