POST-CONFERENCE CHARTERED BUS
FROM NOTRE DAME TO THE PALMER HOUSE HILTON

A chartered bus from Notre Dame to the Palmer House Hilton, site of the 2002 ASA Annual Meeting, has been arranged for the convenience of Authority In Contention conference attendees. The bus will leave the University of Notre Dame, McKenna Hall at 5:30 pm on Thursday, August 15th and arrive at the Palmer House Hilton sometime between 7:00 and 8:00 pm depending on traffic. There is no fee for taking this bus, however, only one bus is available and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a seat, email (click on name): N. Eugene Walls. You will receive a confirmation email to let you know whether a seat is still available. If you are unsure if you have a seat reserved on the bus, just click on the bus to find out.

BY TRAIN
The South Shore Line runs between downtown Chicago and South Bend Regional Airport. The train ride takes approximately 2.5 hours and the current fare for a one-way trip is around $10.00.

The train makes 4 runs going from downtown Chicago to South Bend, leaving downtown Chicago at: 8:45 a.m., 12:25 p.m., 3:58 p.m., and 5:10 p.m. For more information on the eastbound Chicago train and fares, go to South Shore Eastbound from Chicago. To get from South Bend Regional Airport and the University of Notre Dame, cabs are available and the typical fee is less than $10.


The train makes 5 runs going from South Bend to Chicago, leaving South Bend at: 5:37 a.m., 7:55 a.m., 12:17 p.m., 3:53 p.m., and 7:45 p.m. For more information on the westbound train out of South Bend, go to South Shore Westbound to Chicago.

The South Shore line terminates at 151 East Randolph Street. From there, the Hilton Chicago, where the ASA Annual Meeting is being held, is approximately 11 blocks (slightly over a mile). Exiting on East Randolph Street go 2 blocks west to Michigan Avenue. Then go south on Michigan Avenue for approximately 9 blocks to 720 South Michigan. Cabs, busses and the EL are available.

From the South Shore line termination point, you may also take the EL - Blue Line to O'Hare Airport or the EL - Orange Line to Midway Airport.

BY BUS
The United Limo bus runs between O'Hare and Midway airports in Chicago and drops off on the Notre Dame campus. The bus ride takes approximately 3 hours and the current fare for a one-way trip is around $31.00.

To get from either O'Hare or Midway Airport to downtown Chicago where the ASA Annual Meeting is being held, take the EL - Blue Line or the EL - Orange Line, respectively.
