Task: Examine the determinants of academic productivity (number of articles published).

As you may discover, the dependent variable (number of articles published) is highly skewed and has a low mean, which makes it likely a poisson distribution.  Specify a poisson regression model that you think best predicts the variance in academic productivity.  Does the dependent variable resemble a poisson distribution after controlling for the independent variables?  Is the poission regression model better than an OLS regression model?  Is a negative binomial regression model better than the poisson model?  Cite results from your computer output to support your answers.  Interpret the slope coefficients of your final model.  Aid your interpretion with a few substantive examples.
