News - December 30th 2011
- A Few Last Bits Of News WoWInsider has a really nice post that looks at the current state of DPS in the Dragon Soul raid, based on data pulled from World of Logs. What's nice is that they have various sets of data (10-man normal, heroic, 25-man, etc.) and they also give a brief explanation of what each data set is conveying. In case you're wondering, it looks like Fire Mages are typically dominating the DPS with Combat Rogues usually taking 2nd place. MMO-Champion doesn't really have any new news for me to dip from, so instead they've posted a recap of what we know so far regarding the new 5-mans and raids coming in Mists of Pandaria. There's no new information to be had from this, but it's nice seeing it all in one easy-to-find space. It looks like this is going to be the first of a series of posts they're going to do that will recap the new features coming in the next expansion. Well, in case you'd forgotten, I said I was going to continue to update this site until the end of this year. So that means this is going to be the last news-based update that I'm going to do. I'll have a special parting words post tomorrow and then that'll be it for me. From now on if it's a slow WoW-news day I no longer have to worry about it. Woot! :) ___________________________________________________________ News - December 29th 2011 - Compiling Your Title Pride Now that more and more guilds are beating heroic Dragon Soul the world firsts start to focus on achievments. And the first Glory of the Dragon Soul Raider has already been obtained. The (I believe Russian) guild Exorsus grabbed it and now has a nice new mount for their efforts. The MMO-Champion statistics continue, this time with displayed titles. Unlike the mount and pet stats, this list is much less obvious since it's only looking at the titles that players choose to have displayed on their toons, not all the titles the toon has available. ___________________________________________________________ News - December 28th 2011 - Gotta Catch 'Em All It looks like MMO-Champion's compiled statistics will be the news of the week. Today they've got stats on vanity pet ownership (it's past the Blood Legion video). Just like with yesterday's mount lists there's really not much surprise involved here. The rare pets are mostly from the WoW TCG, Darkmoon Faire (since it hasn't been available long enough for the pets to become common yet), and promotional offers. Hopefully we'll get something more interesting for tomorrow's news. ___________________________________________________________ News - December 27th 2011 - How Rare Is Your Ride? MMO-Champion brings us some more statistics, this time on the rarity of mounts (scroll past the Dragon Soul progressions). They've listed the 30 most commonly owned mounts, the 30 rarest mounts, and the % of some others (scroll down some more past the Stars video). Some of the mounts in these lists come as no surprise. I mean, yeah, the mounts you get from the WoW TCG are going to be pretty darn rare, same goes for the ones that are rare drops from raid bosses. If looking at those stats is boring to you, I'm sorry. It's all that I've got for today. ___________________________________________________________ News - December 26th 2011 - BC Has Some Great Weapon Models Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. Was Santa nice to you this year? Another guild has beaten heroic Madness of Deathwing which means KIN has released the video of their world first kill. It's a pretty typical fight video, and the ending cinematics are NOT included so there's not really anything spoiler-ish. MMO-Champion has compiled some interesting statistics on weapon transmogrification (scroll down past the video which is the same one I mentioned above). It appears a big majority of transmogging preference has been for BC weapon models and really no interest in Cataclysm weapon models. It looks like BC continues to be the favorite time of WoW, even in terms of weapon models. |
