The looting rules we use are pretty
simple and as
fair as we've been able to make it without having to resort to a DKP
system.
1
and 1
Each item that drops
is given one of two
classifications:
*
Tier armor *
This is
any
piece of armor that is considered part of a tier set, or is a token
used to purchase or upgrade a piece of tier armor.
*
Non-Tier Gear *
This is any piece of gear that is not a piece of Tier armor.
Typically refered to as
a "standard epic".
Why do we classify items into these two categories? The answer
is simply to spread the wealth. This is accomplished with this
limitation:
You
can win ONE item from EACH of the two categories in any single
run
So you're completely free to roll for and win 1 standard epic and 1
piece of tier armor/tier token in a single run. It is possible to
win more
loot beyond that, but there are restrictions to doing so.
How
Loot is Distributed
- When an item drops, anyone
that can use the item for their primary spec, that has not yet won an item
from that category, and would like
to have it as an upgrade does a /roll command. The highest roll
is
the winner. Anyone who does not want the item simply says "pass".
- If all of those initial people have already won something
from that category, then they all can become eligible again to win this
item. Again a /roll is done to determine the winner.
- If all of those initial people pass on the item, then
it
becomes available to anyone whose character may want the item for their
secondary spec. Again a /roll is done to determine the
winner. Loot won in this phase does not count against your
limit of 1 and 1.
- If no one wants the item then it is given to an Enchanter
in the group in order for it to be disenchanted.
In a Nutshell
Putting all this together the loot order
goes:
Primary spec toons that can use the item item and
have not yet won something
from that category
↓
Primary spec toons that can use the item but
have already won something
from that category
↓
Secondary spec toons that can use the item
↓
Item is disenchanted
Different
Armor Types
You are expected
to only roll for the primary type of armor that your class wears.
If the loot rolling gets to the point where off-specs get to roll
then you can roll for armor that is
not your main armor type. It does not matter if that armor piece
is BiS for your class, if it's not your primary armor type you don't
get to roll for it right away.
Different
Day, Same Run
If the group
returns to the same instance on a
different day to pick
up where they previously left off it is still considered
the same run, and any loot
you won in the first trip still applies to whether or not you get
anything on the return trip.
Same
Day, Different Runs
If the group goes
to different instances in the same
day (i.e. Obsidian Sanctum first then moves on to ToC) they are
still considered different runs and the loot limits in one
does not carry over into
the other. Though we do ask that you consider the
Think of Others
section below.
Dual
Specs and Secondary Spec Gear
Everyone that purchases the ability to
Dual Spec MUST declare both a primary spec and a secondary spec.
This will affect what loot you can roll on and when it will be
available for you to roll on it.
Think
of Others
Just because you can roll on
something, please try to think of the
other people in the group before you do so. If you know someone
else could benefit more from the item than you then consider passing on
it. If you know that someone hasn't won anything yet in the run
then consider passing so they can maybe walk away having won at least 1
new item. If you know that someone hasn't won anything in any of
the runs in the past few weeks then strongly consider passing on a few
items to help them catch up.
This is all recommendation. We are
not going to force you to pass
on something if you're eligible for it. But if we notice you
constantly winning stuff and never helping to gear up others then it
will become an issue that we will
address with you.
The raids do not succeed nor fail based
solely on you, they rely on
everyone. Helping others improve their gear will help yourself
too;
the better we all get the easier it will be for us to get more loot to
drop.
And if you don't win something just
remember: It will drop again.
Equal
Opportunity Guild
If there is
a PUG involved in the raid they follow the normal Guild rules for loot
rolling. Please keep in mind that if they did not come to help,
we
wouldn’t be going on the run in the first place. They will have
an equal
opportunity to roll on any items that their class and spec can use.
