News - September 30th 2011 - Watching The End Of Time
Blizzard has already made some changes to the Tier 13 set bonuses.  The changes are in bold text so look closely.

There is a FAQ posted that answers some of the questions regarding the new Looking for Raid feature in 4.3.  It gives answers to some questions like how loot will be distributed, who's raid leader, and how will kicking someone from the group be handled.

The 5-man End of Time is on the 4.3 PTR so we get to see a little of what this new instance will have in store for us.  Here's a preview video as well as a longer full-run video.

News - September 29th 2011 - Show 'Em If You Got Em
Blizzard has given us the official preview of the new Rogue legendary daggers, Fangs of the Father.  In the preview is a nice video showing off the various stages of the daggers.  But what's nicer is word that the daggers will give a stacking Agi buff that builds up until wings (which we've already seen) pop out of the Rogue's back.  When this happens the Rogue's finishing moves will cost no combo points and will do increased damage for a short amount of time.  Also the Rogue can pop out the wings at will, which will provide no combat benefits but they will act as a parachute.  Pretty cool.  Too bad this is going to be something only Rogues will get to enjoy.

Along with the Tier 13 armors that we've been seeing we also get to look at the Arena Season 11 armor models.  They look pretty darn good, too.  I'd even go so far as to say that they look better than Tier 13.  Although I do have a bone to pick when it comes to the Rogue S11 armor, because this is the version for male characters and this is the version for female characters.  Did the females forget to put a shirt on or something?  Don't get me wrong, I like boobs, but it's very odd that Blizzard would make a different version for females, even more so when it's a version that is bound to draw some criticism.

And if you go to that same link to the Season 11 armors and scroll down a bit you'll see that MMO-Champion has also dug up some of the loot that will drop in the new 5-mans.

News - September 28th 2011 - ...Then A Bunch O' News Again
Yesterday was clearly the calm before the storm because 4.3 hit the PTR and there's a ton of stuff to look at.  For the most part you'll get all you need to know at MMO-Champion and these two posts at WoWHead News.  Here's the 4.3 PTR in a nutshell
All that should keep you busy reading for a while.

News - September 27th 2011 - Bunch O' News, Then Nothing
Well crap.  Blizzard tricked me with a bunch of news over the weekend and then today: jack squat.  After all this time I still haven't learned to keep at least one news bite on hold for times like this.

News - September 26th 2011 - Legendary Rogue Daggers = Red Bull
Back to more 4.3 news, which could be hitting the PTR as soon as this week.  Or at least parts of 4.3 will.  Blizzard will be gradually implementing parts of the next patch to the PTR over time.

Although we haven't seen all the new models for the Tier 13 armors yet we do get the treat of being able to finally see what the T13 set bonuses will be.

Speaking of T13, we already saw that the Rogue armor has some strong resemblances to Batman, but now Blizzard has made the bat theme even more prevalent since the new legendary Rogue daggers will also do this.

And the official Korean WoW site has posted two screenshots of new spectral mounts, a spectral gryphon and a spectral wyvern.  All we have so far are these pics, no word on how we'll get them or when.

News - September 23rd 2011 - The Family That Plays Together...
Well the influx of new 4.3 information has finally petered out.  So today I've got two videos to keep you occupied.

The first is called Mine of Worldcraft and it's essentially a WoW parody made from the game Minecraft.  I highly recommend changing the video's resolution to 720p and watching it in full screen so that you can see all the hilarious text that the creator has put throughout the video; things like the descriptions of the races and classes at the character creation screen, the quest text, and looted item descriptions.

The second video is about a family that plays WoW together.  They play it together so much that they turned their living room into their group computer room so that they could communicate more easily while playing.  I know some will look at this and immediately think this family needs to get a life, but I think it's a good example of people actually doing stuff together as a family that they all enjoy, which is rather uncommon nowadays.  We've even got some families in our own guild that play WoW together, so be proud of that.

News - September 22nd 2011 - You've Been Hacked?! Oh Noes!!!
It's the Paladins' turn for Tier 13 armor.  I hope you Pallys like feathers.  And if you've been wondering why Blizzard is going with some of the themes that they've chosen with the Tier 13 armors here's a little insight into that decision process.

If your WoW account has ever been hacked you'll know that it's a stressful, horrible thing to go through.  That's why Blizzard's customer service has thrown together this informative video that will walk you through what you should do if you get hacked.  Of course, you could just do the smart thing and buy an authenticator.  Just sayin'.

News - September 21st 2011 - The Dark Knights Of WoW
Today we've got the Rogue Tier 13 armor to look at.  If you've ever wanted to play a character in WoW that looked like Batman then it's time to roll a Rogue.

The hotfix nerfs to Firelands bosses went into effect yesterday.  As was previously mentioned to us by Blizzard these nerfs are about on the same level as the ones applied to the first tier of Cataclysm raids when 4.2 came out.

And in case you've been wondering, the Diablo III beta went live yesterday.  Just FYI.

News - September 20th 2011 - The 4.3 News Keeps Pouring In
Brewfest starts today.  The trinkets that drop from Coren Direbrew have been upgraded to ilevel 365 so get your drink on!

Blizzard is following up yesterday's news of the new 5-mans and new raid with some official previews of all of them.  So now you can read some background and boss info for Endtime, Well of Eternity, Hour of Twilight, and The Dragon Soul.  Very sweet stuff.

Blizzard has also given some clarification on how we'll get our hands on T13 pieces.  There will still be multi-class tokens that drop from bosses, but none of the pieces will be purchasable with Valor Points.  There will be more non-set gear than normal that you can spend VPs on though.  And we already knew about there being 3 ilevels of T13 gear: LFR, normal, and heroic, but it's good to know that the various ilevels can be mixed and matched to get the set bonuses.

Ever since they introduced the upcoming Transmogrification feature there have been a lot of questions and a lot of confusion.  So Blizz has put together a list of Transmogging rules.  Hopefully this will clear things up a bit.

And one final note.  The IP address for our Ventrilo server has changed.  Please check our guild forums for the new address and be sure to make the change in your Vent settings.

News - September 19th 2011 - Slammed With 4.3 Interview Info
We got hit with new info this past weekend.  But before we get started let me remind you that today is Pirates' Day, and it's only for today so get down to Booty Bay and get that easy achievement.  Also Brewfest starts tomorrow.

Now then, thanks to this interview with Game Director Tom Chilton, and this interview with Lead Systems Designer, Ghostcrawler here's some new info regarding patch 4.3:
  • WARNING: DEFINITE SPOILER ALERT
  • The names of the new 5-mans are "Endtime" where Nozdormu will show players the future if Deathwing wins, "Well of Eternity" where players will go back in time to the War of the Ancients to help Thrall recover the Dragon Soul to use against Deathwing, and "Hour of Twilight" where the players will escort Thrall to Wyrmrest Temple, for the faceoff with Deathwing.
  • The portal entrances to all three new 5-mans will be at the Caverns of Time.
  • Deathwing's raid will be called The Dragon Soul.  It will have 8 bosses, the last two of which are both Deathwing.
  • The first fight against Deathwing will involve the players dropping onto his back as he's flying from Wyrmrest Temple to the Maelstrom.  The raid has to pry off parts of his armor plating and fight lava mobs that crawl out of him.  There will also be a balancing mechanic to the fight that will force the group to stay balanced while fighting as Deathwing tries to shake you off.
  • The final Deathwing fight will involve the players fighting a humongous Deathwing (well, fighting parts of him at a time, he's going to be that big) from floating islands at the Maelstrom.
  • The new legendary will actually be a pair of daggers possibly named the Fangs of the Father and they will definitely be Rogue ONLY.  The questline for the daggers will revolve around the pure black dragon egg that you help protect while questing in the Badlands.
  • Epic Cataclysm gems will appear in 4.3.  Every time you kill a boss you'll get a geode.  In that geode will be either blue quality gems or an epic gem.
  • The loot you get from Looking For Raid groups will be stronger than 5-man heroic gear, but weaker than normal mode raid gear.
  • Melee classes will be getting a buff in the new raid to help them compete with ranged classes.
  • All of this is of course subject to change.
Yeah, 4.3 is indeed going to be THAT epic.

News - September 16th 2011 - TECHNO-MAGE!
Only another new Tier 13 preview today.  It's the Mage's turn.  I'm sorry, I've gotta give my honest opinion, this armor set looks dumb.  I'm not really sure what Blizzard was doing.  Granted it might look appropriate if you happen to play a Gnome Mage, but any other races... no, just dumb.

Disclaimer: This post is based on Lishtaar's personal opinion and is to be taken as such.  If you do not agree with his opinion that is your right, but since this is Lishtaar's website he gets to say what he wants, so he's right and you're wrong. /rasp

News - September 15th 2011 - Another T13 And Another Hotfix
Today's news is very similar to what we had on Monday in that we've got a new Tier 13 armor preview and a hotfix.

The new T13 we get to look at is for the Shaman.  I don't know if it's because the armor is being modeled on an Orc, but those shoulders are awfully big.  The armor as a whole is definitely 'bone'rific.

The hotfix isn't all that special.  There's some nerfs to the Foe Reaper 5000 fight in heroic Deadmines, a fix to a Firelands trash pack, and a few other tweaks and fixes.

News - September 14th 2011 - New Legendary And New Raid Difficulty
Yet another Tier 13 armor preview, this time it's for the Druids.  Thankfully it doesn't look too bad at all, at least not as goofy as some of the previous tiers.

Some more 4.3 news.  WoW's lead producer did an interview recently (which has since been taken down, but MMO-Champion has it mirrored) in which he divulged some more 4.3 info:
  • The next legendary weapon will be a Rogue dagger.  Yes, this is a very narrow and specialized role for a legendary, but Blizzard said the next one would be.  No clue as to what it will be called, what its stats will be, what the lore will be behind it, nor any info regarding the epic quest chain that will be involved to get it.
  • The new Looking For Raid tool will only be usable to form 25-man raids.  The raid difficulty when using the LFR feature will actually be easier than normal mode, there will be less loot given, and the regular achievements will not be obtainable (there will be new LFR achievements instead).  It is intended to serve as "training wheels" for the raid to help people learn the mechanics.
  • The Dragonflight will be uniting in order to fight Deathwing.
  • The new 5-mans will be more closely involved with the Deathwing raid story-wise than the Icecrown heroics were.
4.3 is definitely building up to a nice looking patch.

News - September 13th 2011 - Big Firelands Nerfs Incoming
Blizzard is prepping for 4.3.  Deathwing's raid is coming and they've noticed that not that many guilds are stomping their way through the Firelands raid as they'd hoped.  So they're going to be hitting the raid with the same degree of nerfs (i.e. same amount of boss health and damage reductions) they hit BoT, BWD, and TofFW with when Firelands came out.  These nerfs are going to be applied to both normal and heroic modes.  They will be hotfixing the nerfs into the game starting next week.

In further preparation for 4.3 Blizzard also wants your input about your class.  They have a series of questions they would like you to answer about your class and post to the thread available at the appropriate official class forum.  If you'd like to help the future of whatever class you play then this is your chance.

It certainly looks like 4.3 could be hitting the PTR pretty soon.

News - September 12th 2011 - Keeping The Creepy Lock Look
We did get one additional Tier 13 armor set preview over the weekend, this one is the Warlock T13 armor.  Not bad, though the tentacle mouth thing is kinda creepy.

There was also a very small hotfix applied as well.  And by very small I mean a buff to one paladin spell and two quest mechanics fixes.

News - September 9th 2011 - Deathwing Warriors
With all the talk of 4.3 there's still been something missing.  What's been missing is the new armor tiers.  Blizzard has started to remedy this by showing off the Warrior Tier 13 armor model, and it looks nice.  Their concept was to make the Warrior T13 armor look like Deathwing, and they succeeded.  Hopefully we'll start seeing other Tier 13 armors very soon.

News - September 8th 2011 - Stealth Nerf, But Nothing To Worry About
Nothing really newsworthy, at least not for us.  I guess Blizzard did a stealth nerf to part of the quest chain involved with putting together the latest legendary weapon.  They didn't think it would take so little time to acquire enough of the item needed for that part of the chain.

News - September 7th 2011 - Cutting Down Ragnaros's HP
It seems that due to the fact that less than 50 guilds in the US and Europe combined have actually beaten Heroic mode Ragnaros, Blizzard has hit ol' Raggy with a health nerf in both 25- and 10-man heroic modes.  It appears that there are some other stealth nerfs that have been applied to the Firelands as well, like Beth-tilac's phase 2 AoE damage aura now being resistable fire damage.

News - September 6th 2011 - The Rhythmic Pattern Of Dinging Level 85
Harvest Festival begins today, though there's nothing to get excited about since nothing new has been added to what is already one of the most boring WoW holidays in the game.  Fortunately Brewfest is later this month.

Other than that there isn't much else going on.  MMO-Champion does have an interesting graph showing how many people dinged level 85 each day since Cataclysm came out (taken from a pool of 1.1 million US toons).  It's very interesting to see almost a wave-like pattern of dings that occur, peaking on the weekends before dipping back down during the weekdays.

News - September 5th 2011 - More News On Future Content
MMO-Champion has gathered up some additional 4.3 and post-Cataclysm info from futher interviews Blizzard big-wigs have been giving.  The Deathwing encounter is definitely sounding like one of the most epic fights in WoW.  There are more armor customization features being looked into.  And Blizzard really wants people to come back to playing since there are more that have played but don't anymore than there are people that currently play.

News - September 2nd 2011 - My Little Worgen Pony
You remember the stink that was caused when the Goblins got a whole set of new mounts for the Hordies, but the Worgen only got their racial running ability and didn't give the Alliance any new mounts, thereby making the totals uneven?  Well it seems that people are still angry and bitching about it.  So Blizzard is finally giving the Gilneas faction a set of mounts which should even things up for the Alliance.  Notice I didn't say "new" mounts.  It's because the Gilnean mounts are pretty much just unarmored versions of the Stormwind horse mounts.  LAME.  But it will help out anyone that's working towards any of the mount-based achievements.

News - September 1st 2011 - Bloody Mitigation
Blizzard's still tweaking the heck out of tanking for patch 4.3, this time we get to hear their thoughts on changes for Blood Death Knight tanks.  I'm sure if you play a DK you'll get more out of the article than the rest of us, but Ironguard seemed pretty pleased by what was said so you can assume these are good changes they want to make.

FigurePrints now has both Tier 12 and Arena Season 10 armor sets available as options for their 3D character statues.  More options is a good thing.  And as part of their summer sale they're also offering free shipping on all WoW FigurePrint orders until September 15th so act now.
