2009-04-14 17:07:33 Read more... Gaussview (3 and higher version) can be used as VASP input/output generator/visualizer/analyzer. Using the PBC (Edit/PBC) in Gaussview (more info see Gview PBC intro on gaussian.com), it only takes a few minutes to generate a Periodic Boundary System, in principle, any surface/slab/bulk. However how to convert the VASP format to Gaussian format is a problem. I've written two scripts (Mathematica 6) to translate between POSCAR/CONTCAR and .com files. Vasp->Gaussian vasp2gview-1.0.nb Gaussian->Vasp gview2vasp-1.0.nb Hope this can facilitate the preparation of VASP jobs. Please report any bug and comment is welcome.
