Former President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter met with Rev. Thomas Streit, CSC, Ph.D., founder of the University of Notre Dame's Haiti Program and Dr. Gregory Crawford, Dean of the College of Science in the Haitian Ministry of Health (above). The international community involved with the Bi-National Malaria and Lymphatic Filariasis Project gathered with the Carters to discuss joint efforts to eliminate these diseases from Hispaniola, the island shared by both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
