Monthly Pensioner Payroll
Pay Schedule
Pay dates are scheduled to be the 1st day of each month. In the event that a regularly scheduled pay date falls on a holiday, the pay date is the next banking day after the regularly scheduled pay date. For example, the University recognizes Jan. 1 as a holiday each year and therefore the pension recipients will receive their pay on Jan. 2 (unless Jan. 2 falls on a weekend or is designated as a holiday).
Direct Deposit
Effective January 1, 2006, all pension payments will be made via direct deposit. Direct deposit is the quickest, most reliable, and safest method of payment. The benefits of direct deposit include:
Convenience
No special trip to the bank to deposit your check.
Reliability
Automatically deposited to your bank's checking account at any US financial institution.
Security
No reason to worry about lost, stolen or misplaced checks. Due to many checks delayed in the US mail, the Payroll Office policy is to wait ten business days before replacing a lost check.
Flexibility
If you change banks or bank accounts, simply notify the Payroll Office of the new bank and account number, using the Direct Deposit Authorization form noted below.
Lower fees
Most banks offer free or reduced fees for services when you have your pay direct deposited with them.
To elect direct deposit or to change your current direct deposit election, contact the Payroll Office at (574) 631-7575 for a direct deposit form click here . A voided check must be attached to the form to verify routing and account numbers. Those electing direct deposit with Notre Dame Federal Credit Union need only provide a member number. For more information on direct deposit, click here.
Deadline
Documents for new retirees must be filed with Human Resources 15 days prior to scheduled pay date to be included on that pay date.
Address Change
Payroll Services will use the home address on file with Human Resources for all mailings, including the year end reporting Form 1099-R. To change your address, contact Human Resources at (574) 631-5900 for a Name/Address Change form. This form is also available at http://www.nd.edu/~hr/forms/nd_name_addr_chng2.pdf .
