The Center for Microfluidics and Medical Diagnostics is led by Director Dr. Hsueh-Chia Chang and Associate Director Dr. David T. Leighton. The Center Technical Advisory Board is composed of Dr. Mark McCready, Dr. Albert Miller, Dr. Agnes Ostafin, and Dr. Gary Bernstein. The culmination of the fundamental research of graduate students used to be the publishing of journal articles and presentations to prestigious scholarly societies. The Center enables a next step toward technology transfer to be taken for those projects with the highest commercial potential. Visiting professors and postdoctoral fellows work with Center faculty and industrial partners to use the new insights gained from fundamental research in the development of new products. The Center model for technology transfer bridges the gap between academia and industry.

Pictured here are the graduate students that discover new phenomena and the faculty, visiting professors and postdoctoral fellows from the Center who turn their patented innovations into commercial products.
