Using the ScanWizard (in Huber Lab)

1) Using: Microtek, ScanMaker

2) Place gel on plate and cover with saran (as for densitometer) then put white paper over plate.

3) Start scan: Wizard icon on the Dell computer.

4) Select conditions: Photo image, grey scale, OCR text file.

5) Preview the pic until satisfied.

6) Save as sc… .Tif (prefix added to the same file name on densitometer)7

7) Be sure to save file on your AFS space or send over to Kay’s AFS space so as not to tie up Huber lab computer.

You are a guest in another lab, please clean up after yourself. Be sure that the glass plates are really clean and dry after our gels since the Huber lab use different media and are worried about the water getting into the instrument. Do not leave files on their computers. Be sure to go back and delete when you are sure you have received them in good form.
